Prayer lock for iPhone & Android

Turn scrolling into praying.

PrayerMax locks the apps that pull you away from God. To open them, you pause and pray first. One minute with Him, then the day goes on.

Free on iPhone and Android. No account. Nothing tracked.

The problem

Every day, two and a half hours go into the phone.

That is the average. Over a lifetime it adds up to eleven years of scrolling. Eleven years of somebody else's life instead of your own, and none of it with God.

You have tried Screen Time. You have tried deleting the apps. You have tried willpower at eleven o'clock at night. The apps are built by very smart people to win that fight, and they do.

How it works

A door, not a wall.

Blockers say no. PrayerMax says pray first. You can always get through, but the way through is a minute with God.

  1. 1

    Choose your apps

Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, games. Whatever takes you away, pick it. PrayerMax uses your phone's own screen-time controls, so it cannot see inside anything.

  2. 2

    They lock, once a day

When you reach for a locked app, PrayerMax opens instead. No shame, no lecture. Just a quiet screen and an invitation.

  3. 3

    Pray, then proceed

Say a written prayer, listen to a Bible story, or receive a prayer written for exactly what you are carrying today. Your apps open for a few minutes, then rest again.

Why PrayerMax

He does not scold the sheep that wandered.

He goes and finds it. Every unlock in PrayerMax is a small coming home: a moment where your attention was gone, and you brought it back to Him.

Over weeks, something changes. The habit that forms is not “avoid Instagram.” It is “pray.” Dozens of times a week, at exactly the moments you used to lose.

What's inside

Built for the moment you reach for the phone.

  • Prayers written for you

Tell PrayerMax what you are carrying and it writes a prayer for that: the exam, the diagnosis, the argument, the temptation. Yours, not generic.

  • Bible stories in three minutes

The Prodigal Son. David and Goliath. The woman at the well. Told beautifully, short enough to finish before the kettle boils.

  • A library for every moment

Morning, night, anxiety, strength, healing, protection. The prayers on this site, and hundreds more, one tap away.

  • Private by design

No account. No tracking. PrayerMax cannot read your messages or see what you do inside apps; it only knows when to lock them.

  • Gentle, not punishing

You can always get through. The point is not to win a fight with yourself; it is to meet God in the middle of it.

  • Free to start

Block any apps, get personal prayers, and use the starter library free. Pro unlocks the full library and more locks per day.

Give Him the first minute.

The phone will still be there. So will the feed. But you will have prayed first, and that changes what the rest of the day belongs to.

Common questions

What is PrayerMax?

PrayerMax is a prayer lock: an app that locks your other apps until you pray. You choose the apps that pull you away from God — Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, games — and once a day they lock. To unlock them you pray: a short written prayer, a Bible story, or a prayer written for what you are going through right now. Then the apps open for a few minutes and the day carries on.

Is PrayerMax free?

Yes. Blocking any apps, personal prayers written for you, and a starter library of prayers and Bible stories are free. PrayerMax Pro unlocks the full library and the ability to lock apps several times a day.

How is a prayer lock different from a normal app blocker?

Screen Time and most blockers just say “no.” That works for about a day, because a wall is something you climb. PrayerMax replaces the wall with a door: you can always get through, but the way through is a minute with God. Over time the habit that forms is not “avoid Instagram,” it is “pray.”

Does PrayerMax read my messages or track what I do?

No. PrayerMax uses the operating system’s own screen-time controls (Apple’s Screen Time API on iPhone) to lock apps. It cannot see inside them, does not read notifications, and does not send your usage anywhere. No account is required.

Is PrayerMax Catholic or Protestant?

Both, and neither. The prayers are drawn from Scripture and from the shared Christian tradition. There are traditional Catholic prayers in the library and plain-spoken prayers that any believer can pray. Nothing in the app requires a denomination.
